what kind of blinds or shades block sunlight completely im going to be getting and hd tv soon and where the tv is a window is behind with my current blinds sunlight still comes through i dont want this reflecting off my new tv please help

I have those in my room. I don’t know what it’s really named. But i think u could check out those curtain/draperies stores. They might help u alot.

A variety of “black out” options exist. Most common and effective are roller shades and curtain liners. The black out lining is also available in roman blinds and even as a backing for bamboo-type blinds.

If the window is behind your tv, reflected light should not be a problem. However back light is still a problem from a comfort perspective, so some window covering is appropriate - but you likely do not need full black out.

A lined curtain, roman shade or a roller shade will block light better than a slated blind, such as a “mini blind”. Also, to avoid slits of light coming in, install the window treatment so that it is outside the window frame, above and a few inches wider than your window.

Shades using “blackout” or “opaque” fabric will completely block outside light from coming in through the fabric. However, you will also need to address the edges of the window. “Outside” mounting - - will provide coverage for the edges of the window, eliminating gaps so light won’t penetrate. There will still be some reflection of the light around the edges, so if you want total darkness, you will need to cover the edges of the shades. This is often done with soft drapery treatments.
