What is an alternative to curtains or another way to hang curtains?

mountaintop_23 asked:

I live in an apartment. I can’t nail the rod to the wall. I can’t find a tension rod to fit inside the window.

I have blinds and the blinds hang on the top of the window, on the wall. They are not inside so they would have to come down.

I’m not sure how long of a rod you might need, but check out shower curtain tension rods to see if they might help.

Sounds like you have to get creative. Dont take the blinds down, use the top of the blinds to attach a very light weight curtin rod to it. Put the curtin on the rod first and just work with it to try to make it look lagit. do what you gotta do. Good luck

You never want to nail them to the wall. But hollow wall anchors can be used and if you move, removed and the holes easily patched. I have blinds and curtains also, with the curtains mounted slightly outside the blinds.

I have used command strip hooks to hang pictures. I ones I have hold up to 15lbs. You could put one on either side of the window. Together they would hold 30 lbs. The rod and curtains shouldn’t weigh more than that. You could make a loop of wire or fabric around each end of the rod and then put the loop on the hook to hang the rod.

Hope this works for you.

Put up anything you want. Just make sure you plaster the holes before you leave. White toothpaste is the material I used to use.
