What are the best window blinds to get with a cat?

we currently have vertical blinds throughout our house however our kitten has managed to bite his way though all of the beads that keep the blinds together - along with the ones that hang down to open them. not only this but they are covered in cat hair which seems impossible to get off.

we are decorating at the moment and want to buy some new cat proof blinds but we are not sure what type to get. any ideas??? help!!

I would suggest DONT get any blinds, as kitty is just going to eat those also, try chiffon or nets or plain old curtains. I took all my blinds down when we got cats as their hair sticks to them and they are a nightmare to clean. =^..^=

My venitian blinds are ruined. I think verticle blinds are the way to go. if you change colors you replace the plastic hanging bits without replacing the mechanism.
