Sidelight Window Blind Problem?
Frank A asked:
I am a rookie in blind installation and got 1″ blinds for a 1″ deep window. I blame the store for not telling to measure window depth. They told me to measure the length and width 3 times and never mentioned the depth.
The problem is the quarter round on the inside of the window frame won’t allow the blind to be set in all the way. Is removing the quarter round going to cause any problems?

The quarter round is Probably just a finish piece and not holdong the lite in place. IF you can refinish the area to suit your asthetic then try it in a small area first, then proceed, sand and repaint.
Having said this, you can return the blinds, or you can build them out to clear the molding without removing it, however this may leave a gap, causing the ability for visitors to see in, which is probably what you are trying to fix in the first place.
Could it also be a possibility to trim the edges of the blinds so they clear the molding?
Good luck!

Yes, the quarter round is the “stop molding” for holding in either the glass lite, or the panel into the frame, depending on what type sidelite you have. Do not remove this. There are different type brackets you can get, either face or end brackets to move the blind away from the window.
Or if that fails try to “pack out” the bracket using small blocks of wood mounted to the sidelite, to fasten the brackets to.
