need ideas for window treatment for octogon window?

Kris asked:

we have an octogon window on a west wall over the kitchen sink, what should we use to help block the sunlight, it is blinding in the evening.

Get some window tint…you can find it at Home Depot and Lowes. It’s easy to apply just follow the directions and you’ll be good to go. Good Luck!

Use window film from Lowe’s (see link below). You can turn it into a stained glass window or mosaic or choose from several other styles. Its a great product, and is easy to install!

If you don’t mind a permanent option, a cellular shade is a great option. You would need to have a template made by a professional installer. Take it into your nearest JCPenney and they can help you find the best vendor options. I prefer Bali company because they have washable, crushable materials. Check out their Northern Lights or Storm collections.

Just because it is an octagon window doesn’t mean that you you have to treat it special unless you are wanting to make it special. If you don’t care if the window is defined as an octagon then you can use a regular window treatment of curtains. place your rod about 2in more than your widest width and just hang something nice that fits in length. Now if you are wanting to display your octagon window with pride than you could go the route that the others were talking about or you could have a custom blind made. a good site to go to for this( one that i have used before as well) is . hope this helps.
