Need help with window repair?
SpiderJerusalem asked:
I removed some vertical blinds from my bedroom window, and upon removing the headrail I removed a thin aluminum strip that went horizontally across the top edge of the window. I now have to replace this but I have no idea what its called…I went into home depot but what I was told to buy wasn’t the right part so I had to return it.

Does anyone know what this part is called? Its a thin piece of aluminum going all the way across the top of the window in an L shape…the headrail of my blinds were mounted to it. I basically need to replace it and spackle over it because the top of my window isn’t even right now.

I believe what you are referring to is called corner bead. It is used to finish off the edges of sheetrock. I hope this helps.

First answer is correct, however, it is not needed in the header…it was just put there to make a good edge…You can simply mud the area then paint…up to you. The wooden header should be 3/4 inch into rock…put your screws into that…It WILL hold.
