Does the way you close mini blinds effect the air flow in the room?

calamity asked:

My husband and I have an on going debate about the way you close mini blinds, I think you close them so the look flat and smooth from the inside, he thinks you close them so they look as tho they are pointing up & this prevents better air flow, all of our vents are just below the windows.

I’m just guessing, but I thought the way they blinds were set had to do with letting in (or not letting in) sunlight! They seem to look more appealing when they lie flat. May this be one of your only major debates thru your married life! LT

Interesting. I only worry about getting them closed so people can’t see in, or the morning sun won’t blind me before I’m ready to get up! The kind we have now are “room darkening,” and that only works if they are pointing down. Otherwise, there is a lot of light coming through the cracks. Maybe you should try it one way for a week, then the other way, and keep notes about the airflow?

Good Luck!
