Does any know what’s an Anti-tornado blind?
chickencoopp asked:
I guess it’s a window blind for protection in strong wind situation. This seems funny too. I mean, no blind can withstand a really stong wind. If the wind is reallt that strong, protection the building is the main problem.

Anyone have any idea exactly what it is?
Thanks.

You are right, if the wind is strong enough. A storm blind is a metal blind on the outside of the window to protect against flying debris. THey usually have a lulley system inside or are spring loaded with a lock on the outside. Very expensive, but insurance companies like them. I build down on the gulf in Galveston, and the insurance company discounts for these.

Just last night on the local NBC affiliate here in Central Florida I saw a new product, clear, for window protection.
You’ve already got enough knowledge and sense apparently to know when the weather is at a point of danger that should cause you to worry about more than breaking windows.
The Tornado itself,,, or hurricane winds, usually break things like windows with the debris they scatter. If in fact your question relates more to tornadoes, I suspect evacuation would be more important. It a Tornado hit your house, you better not be in it, and it very likely would open the house up in many more ways than just breaking glass.
