Curtains over vertical blinds?
ctj913 asked:
We just bought a house and the sliding glass door to the back yard and the big window in the front have those vertical blinds on them. now my question is is there any type of curtain rod that will come out far enough to put curtains over the blinds? i would really like to keep the blinds but also want curtains (to make it more homey, ya know?) anyone have any suggestions. i guess my last resort is to take down the blinds completely but i really don’t want to! thanks!

Go to a curtain specialty shop. I am sure you’ll find them there.

Take a small block of wood, ***** it where your brackets for your curtain rod goes then attach them to it. It will raise them away from the wall.Just make sure the block of wood is thick enough.

We have this setup. We found the curtain rods/curtains at JC Penney. Enjoy your project!

I WOULD JUST HAVE THE BLINDS AND LEAVE THE CURTAINS OFF. CURTAINS ARE JUST DUST COLLECTORS.

Don’t forget you can simply cover the verticals with a fabric cornice, made any way you want,…and keep the space in the room while giving it he homey look, and feel, you are after. Simply pick a fabric that either matches your decor well, or use a fabric you can match the room to. Maybe you have Grandma’s old curtains, but they don’t fit,….go to the Window Decor store/workroom and have them use the curtains to cover a cornice board.
