What color window blinds should we buy if the trim around our windows are white and the wood encasing is oak?
Dinosaur asked:
I think it’s called wood encasing, but I am referring to the long piece of wood on the bottom that is about 6 ft long x 7 ft wide.
Should the window blinds color match the whitw window grilles trim or the color of the wood encasing on the bottom?
Should the window blinds color match the white window grilles trim or the color of the wood encasing on the bottom?
We have a medium brown w/ a green accent granite kitchen floor, light olive green walls and white appliances, which I want to change into stainless steel in 2-3 yrs.

Normally, your window blinds should match your decor in the room, just as you match curtains to your decor.
This, however, is not a rule written in cement. You can make your room appear larger by matching the trim of the windows so in your case, the blinds would be white.

I’d go with white, but it really depends on the other colours in the room.

we bought the wooden blinds at Leow’s.It matches our oak perfectly and looks like we spent alot of money on them, but we didn’t. The wood dresses up a room and makes it look unique and refined.

I think maybe I’d go with white, there is a break between the trim and the window!

Cream,Tan, or Off White would look sooooo cool Sounds like you have a nice room!! white would look ok but a little color would make it pop!

I personally would go with white. I think it looks crisp, clean and looks good from the outsideas well.

Think long term. If you’re going to change the room in a couple of years, buy for the new design–not the present one. I’d say if you plan to paint the casings to match the new overall white look of the new kitchen, buy white blinds. If you don’t plan to paint, the oak will seem more intentional and will give a more consistant feel to the room. Take into account the furniture in the room. Will oak match, or contrast nicely?
